Why Nutrition and Exercise are Good for you.

Proper nutrition and exercise can help us improve our health, prevent certain diseases, achieve/maintain a desirable weight, and maintain our energy and vitality. When you consider that most people eat on average three meals per day, this results in almost 11,000 opportunities during a 10-year period to eat a healthy nutritious meal. Nutrition is an important component of wellness and is strongly associated with physical activity. So eating a healthful diet and exercising regularly would have an outstanding effect on our lives. Even taking a 10-30 minute walk every day can improve you’re health, especially you’re heart, because you’re heart needs exercise too. It helps your heart muscle become more efficient and better able to pump blood throughout your body. This means that the heart pushes out more blood with each beat, allowing it to beat slower and keep your blood pressure under control. When you exercise regularly, your body’s tissue (including the heart) does a better job of pulling oxygen from your blood. This allows your heart to work better under stress and keeps you from getting winded during high-intensity activities. If you’re weak or sick, start off slow with breaks when you need them, eventually you will see how much faster you get with less breaks, you’ll be able to walk longer, and soon you won’t even need to take any breaks. I have personally witnessed and experienced this in my health, as well as some family members, and it doesn’t take a genius to know the more you do something the better you will be at it. Walking is just a start, soon you’ll be able to do more than just walking. The benefits are endless when eating healthy and exercising, some include helping maintain and building muscle, losing fat, improves you’re mood, sleeping better, gives you energy and so much more. So if you want a change in you’re life start today by eating more healthful foods like fruits and vegetables, and exercise more. The longer you wait, the longer you will be unhealthy. Set up a weekly or monthly goal for yourself, try and document everything so you can see your change, start by walking for 10 minutes a day and when you’re ready increase the walk or speed, you will be feeling better in no time! Don’t forget to ask God to help you stay committed in becoming a healthier you, God didn’t put us on this earth to drown in our unhealthy sorrows. He wants us to be healthy and happy. Through Christ ALL things are possible.
