What do you look for in a spouse?

I was doing some research today and I came across some information about what some people look for in a man or woman. When I think of the type of character we should all be looking for in a person, God comes to my mind. God should be the first and last of everything we do. He should be on our minds upon awakening and as we lay our heads to sleep, anything less should be unacceptable. I always admire men and women of God, and not just those “show-offs” either, like the bible say, “by their fruits ye shall know them.” Unfortunately, there many people who put on a show for popularity instead of for Jesus, these I would call wolves in sheep’s clothing, definitely not the type of people we should have in our circles. It can be trying when a man or woman of God are looking for a Godly significant other, there aren’t may like-minded people out there when it comes to God. My thoughts on this is these people are single for a reason, God has a plan for us all and his timing is perfect, so we shouldn’t be stressing over this. We all have a duty, so we should continue what God wants us to do until that day comes. Helping people all over the world find Jesus should be our priority. I know many of us have busy lives working, taking care of families or attending school, but if we just take even 10 minutes out of our day to read the bible for guidance and help someone in need whether it’s with food, sharing Jesus with them or giving them clothes we would be making our creator smile, and the blessings will come upon us. Hearing or feeling the words “Well done, thy good and faithful servant” from our God should be something we look forward to everyday. And these are the people we should want to know and be around. Eventually God will make the time that we thought we never had increase and the feeling of joy and happiness doing so.

If I had a son or daughter I would tell them to look for someone who wouldn’t go without a day praising and respecting our God. Someone who knows the importance of God’s word, and His Law. Someone who would treat and respect them the proper loving biblical way. Someone who trusts God 100 percent through everything, especially the trials we go through to make us stronger. We have to remember the devil loves to anger us and would do anything for us to create doubt, but we also have to remember that God won’t give us anything we can’t handle, His Word says this. Having our children grow up with God is the best thing we could teach them, like the bible says, “bring up your child in Christ so he never departs from it.” Keeping their eyes on the prize, which is Heaven, will lead them to great and wondrous possibilities. They will be able to make the impossible possible with God as their leader. It shouldn’t be about money, but unfortunately it is. There was an article written in 2015 stating the leading cause of divorce was money, this is idle worship. Another high divorce rate is adultery, which is another commandment broken. And there are studies showing married people stay together after infidelity because they don’t want to lose money. Or someone kills their spouse because they want the life insurance money or they don’t want them getting half of their money. There are also many that kill themselves because they go broke and simply can’t live without money. It’s horrible, this is why we should keep God number one in our lives and marry someone who has God as number one too. It is a sad, sick and twisted world we live in today, but as the bible predicted, this was all supposed to happen, just like it happened in Noah’s days right before the great global flood that destroyed everything but Noah and his Family. We really need to get and stay ready for Jesus’s return, whether you believe it or not this is going to happen. Research the bible for yourselves, you will see how the old history books matches up quite well.

I pray you take this information seriously, and change your lives today to be closer to God. We should all strive to be like Daniel the prophet, and should always go to bed thinking how well we made God smile today. God Bless.

Mathew 19:26 (KJV)

But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.

1 Corinthians 10:13 (KJV)

There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

Proverbs 22:6 (KJV)

“Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.”
