Doing It For The Fame

Doing It For The Fame

Are you doing it for the fame?

I’ve been thinking a lot lately about people who do stuff for the wrong reasons. A good example would be a preacher, there are many people who preach certain things but do the opposite, or they know what they’re doing is wrong but do it anyways for the money. These types of people I would label as wolves in sheep’s clothing, or preacher-tainers. They want to tell you what you want to hear, (like the bible said would happen: Isaiah 30:10 “Which say to the seers, See not; and to the prophets, Prophesy not unto us right things, speak unto us smooth things, prophesy deceits:”) they don’t care about getting you ready for Christs return because that doesn’t bring in the fame or money. I’m not saying you can’t preach about the great things about God, like Heaven or happiness, I’m saying we need to get ready so we are able to understand what is going on in today’s world and what is going to happen in our future. It’s like getting ready for a snowstorm or hurricane, don’t you want the weather man to tell you about the bad snow storm or hurricane that is heading your way so you can be prepared? I look at it like this, if we are only being taught how happy life can be, or how great we are and all that, we are going to miss the big picture here. If you want to learn more about what’s going on today and what is supposed to happen click here.

I think our main goal here is to accomplish what needs to be done without getting distracted. A thought that comes to mind are fighters, or boxers. I’ve watched these people fight and win, then after the win they become famous and get distracted. What usually happens after all the modeling shoots, commercials and whatever they are offered they have to fight someone again. What I have been seeing happen lately is that they lose, why? Because they got so overwhelmed with the fame, money and attention they forgot they were fighting for. They forgot they are here to win, not to look good. When we change our mind set everything changes. You ever hear of the saying, “when you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change?” They really do change. Another great example is what we put in our bodies. If you are constantly stuffing your face with sugars, pills, alcohol, and unhealthy foods you won’t think as clearly as you are able to. I know there are many debates on alcohol and how some wines are healthy. Any kind of alcohol is a toxin, toxin poisons the body. Anything that can make us tipsy, impaired, dehydrated, or drunk is poisoning the body and what that means is it does the opposite of help. Read or listen about the book of Daniel and you will understand why drinking alcohol, and eating an unhealthy diet is wrong, among other important facts you will learn. Daniel was a great role model for all of us, we should all strive to be like him, especially if you are or want to be a preacher. Click here to listen about Daniel.

So basically, what I am trying to say here is if we are trying to preach the word of God we need to do it for the right reasons. When we start doing it for God and not the money, He will take care of us. But remember, we need to put God first in everything we do, stay obedient. God Bless.

1 Corinthians 10:31 “Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.”
