Is it just me or are people forgetting about God? I was on twitter the other day and came across a post that Pope Francis said. He tweeted “May the virgin Mary help us to take the first step each day in order to build peace in love, justice and truth.” This doesn’t surprise me since this is the same man that calls himself god. Whether you want to admit it or not the pope has a great influence on this world, even atheists. I remember talking to an atheist and someone in the group made a joke about the pope and their expression was priceless. It was a scared and worried look, as if they committed an unforgivable sin. But if someone were to use the real God’s name in vain or say something against Him it wouldn’t phase them, or at least that is what I’ve experienced many times. So that is just one bad influence I see, but then I see some of these churches preaching for money and fame. I know people who only go to these churches for the rock bands, they even said it makes them feel like they were at a real concert, they can dress how they want and the concert goes on for at least an hour. Some of these churches literally do this 3 times in one sermon! I was shocked when I heard that part. When do they have time for the sermon? And to top it off there are many studies that say rock music disrupts the mind. I even tried this out on myself because I always heard about it so what I did was listen to nice soothing music, mainly hymnal music. Songs that talk a lot about God and the bible. I listened to it for about 3 weeks, and I literally felt happy all the time, it took about a week to feel that way but I felt more positivity, even in my marriage. It was weird but really nice! Then I went to secular music, like rock, pop, stuff like that. It took a few days to feel on edge. And I felt anxiety, I kept having negative thoughts, I became more angry… so it definitely wasn’t a good feeling. So after 2 weeks I went back to the nice soothing music, it took a little longer to get back to feeling good. Maybe like 2 weeks. After I told a friend about it, she did the same thing and had the same experience. Here is a study that was done on mice with rock music.
“David Merrell conducted an experiment in which he timed seventy-two mice running through a maze. He divided the mice into three groups and let each mouse run through the maze (establishing an average time of ten minutes). He then left one group alone, played classical music to one group, and played hard rock music to the other group.
When he timed them again, the mice that had had not listened to any music took about five minutes less to run through the maze than they had before. The mice that listened to classical music improved their time by eight and a-half minutes, while the mice that listened to hard rock music took three times as long to complete it as they had before.
The mice that listened to hard rock music did not sniff the air to find trails from mice that had gone before them as the other mice did. David said, “It was like the music dulled their senses. It shows point-blank that hard rock has a negative effect all around. I can’t think of a positive effect that hard rock has. During this experiment each mouse was housed in separate aquariums. That is because when David had previously attempted to perform a similar experiment he kept the mice in each group together, and those mice that listened to the rock music killed each other.”
So if rock music really does this then why are we allowing these churches poison our minds? Is it because the majority of people are on some kind of drug/pill? Are they just looking for a good time? Regardless, a church service should be for God, not the people. It should be honoring God in a respectful manor. If you can’t tell the different between a Christian song and a Limp Bizkit song then you have a problem. We should dress appropriately in the house of God and not look like we are going to a mosh pit. Learning how to get closer to God and how to please Him should be the main thing when we are at church. Preachers should be preaching about the bible, and how to be ready for when Jesus comes back, the health message, what is happening in this world that correlates what the bible says, the good things about being a true follower of God, how to be a good example and role model, stuff like that. They shouldn’t be preaching how it’s ok to disrespect God, maybe they don’t know they are doing so but if you read the bible like a true preacher does then you would know the correct way to worship our Lord. Like the bible says, “by their fruits ye shall know them.” Just because your preacher says you should do this or that, or this is ok, don’t take his/her word for it, research it yourself. If it says that it is wrong in the bible then it is wrong. Don’t let your Pastor dictate your future, because in the end he will end up dictating your fate as well. Your Pastor can’t get you to Heaven, only YOU can do that. Stay in your bibles, and I am talking about the real bible, King James Version. The other bibles have over 2000 verses missing. Remember, the bible even says we will be studying the bible in Heaven too. So if we will be doing it in the best place imaginable alongside the angels, how can this not be important?
