Clear your Mind with God for 2023

In these last days (if you don’t think we are in the last days see this link) more and more people are getting angrier, becoming depressed, letting themselves go, and even committing suicide. It’s no secret in the past few years our world has become more divided than ever and it’s only going to get worse. See this link to learn more about that. It’s apparent the enemy, also known as, the devil, uses the media to make this happen and many believe it. Sometimes it can be hard not to believe it especially if every tv station and social media platform is talking about it. See Matthew 24:24 below.

When we study God’s Word daily and the Prophecy of it, we won’t be fooled because we learned it’s supposed to happen, unfortunately many people don’t study it. A major problem today is people aren’t turning to God for their problems. Or they give up too soon. The Bible says God will take care of His obedient children, but since their sins are too enticing, they just use the excuse that they already tried with God. See Revelation 14:12 below. We need to be obedient to God’s Word, we need to be patient with our prayers and we need to have Faith. We need to do these things to show God our loyalty to Him.

I’ve heard people say that if they have to keep “rules” then they don’t want any part of God because that is wrong, and they shouldn’t have to do all that for God’s help. Then I ask them if they cheat on their spouse/significant other or back stab their best friends, and they all reply “no.” Then I ask them why not? They say because they are loyal and need them in their lives and wouldn’t want a divorce. Then I ask why they would marry, date or even be friends with people that give them “rules”? Some laugh and see my point and others say it’s different. In reality they know I am right but too prideful to admit it. Pride is very dangerous to have. See Proverbs 16:5. Before you jump off the handle, I am not saying you can’t be happy about things you accomplish, just don’t let it consume you, and never forget to give God the thanks first.

When we let God take over, our negative thoughts start to parish and more positivity come in. This is what God does, He fills us up with Love, Peace, Joy, Calmness, Healings, etc… I am not saying negative thoughts won’t ever come back because the devil will never quit, he wants to bring you down with him and will do whatever it takes. With God we become stronger to conquer these thoughts and issues in life. This is where faith, obedience and patience come in. There is nothing wrong with having discipline in our lives. We need discipline for many things, like passing a test, winning a race, losing weight, gaining weight, getting healthy, keeping your marriage/relationship happy, etc…  We need to do these things in order for God to help and to show our loyalty.

It really is like being in a marriage, your boyfriend/girlfriend will not marry you if you are cheating on them. If you have a best friend that you never call and/or never want to be around until you need help, do you really think they are going to answer your call or help you? Of course not, because they know you are using them for your benefit. They know you really don’t love them because if you did you would be around or talk to them all of the time. How is this different with God? You never talk to Him, learn about Him or care to even have Him in your life until something bad happens. You can’t get mad at Him for not answering your calls either because He knows you don’t love Him and He knows you are just using Him until you get what you want, and He knows as soon as you do you go right back into your sin. God knows your heart and thoughts. Your best friends may not be able to read your mind or heart but like the Bible says “By their fruits ye shall know them.”

So instead of dealing with the same problems in your life every year or having history repeating itself every year, start the 2023 new year fresh with God and keep it that way. Let God run your household no matter what the cost, it may be painful at times, it may seem impossible, it may cause you to lose family or friends but in the end it will be worth it.

You may feel little in this world but when you hear the Words of our Lord say “……Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord” you’ll feel bigger than the world and be satisfied.
