It’s truly wonderful to be one with the Lord. When someone sincerely gives their life to God, they often experience many beautiful moments and find a deep sense of fulfillment. The ways God works in our lives can be difficult to explain and sometimes even hard for others to believe. But He keeps His promises, and only His true children can truly understand and see His faithfulness.
When someone truly becomes one with God, they develop a desire to do better, to follow His guidance—such as studying His Word, keeping His commandments, and helping others find Him.
It’s always uplifting to let the Holy Spirit shine through you. Whatever you do, let it be for the glory of God. With that in mind, consider the following questions:
- How true are you to the Lord?
- What changes have you made in your life?
- How do you act around people who don’t share the same beliefs?
- How do you behave when you are alone?
- Do you even read the Bible?
Do you give credit to God where it’s due? For example, if God has healed you, a friend, or even your pet, do you tell others that it was God who healed them when they ask? Or do you simply say, “Oh, they’re feeling better now”? God wants us to acknowledge Him so that others can see His miracles and recognize His power. This reveals God’s love for us, and you never know who needs to hear it. Many people are struggling inside, searching for love, and sharing God’s work in your life can be a way to show His love to them. It could be the moment they decide to turn to God.
When your friends invite you to go partying, do you go out of fear of how you’ll look? Do you keep the Sabbath holy, or only when it’s convenient for you? Have you changed the way you talk, look, dress, or act? Or are you the same as you’ve always been?
These are essential questions to ask yourself. We must remember what God said: you are either with Him or against Him. He doesn’t want half-hearted, lukewarm followers, because as the Bible says, we cannot serve both God and man at the same time. We have to make a choice—even if it means losing friends or appearing to be a “goody two-shoes.”
We are called to sacrifice, just as God sacrificed His Son for us so that we might have a chance at eternal life. Think about all the suffering Jesus endured—He went through so much so that we wouldn’t have to face death for our sins. He took our place, offering Himself on our behalf.
We often think about how tough our lives are—whether it’s depression, abuse, loneliness, illness, mourning, homelessness, anger, anxiety, or even being in prison. But the truth is, the struggles we face now are nothing compared to what Jesus went through. He felt every bad thing that exists—mentally, emotionally, and physically. He had it really hard. The great thing is that God can make our problems disappear or give us peace while we continue to deal with them. The world can only help so much, but God is capable of doing the impossible. He has proven this many times throughout history and still today. We should be immensely grateful for what He has done for us.
That’s why we need to let others see God through us. He calls us all, but as His Word says, only a few are chosen. So, stop following what the world says and does, and stop hiding or being embarrassed about what you believe. It’s time to be a leader, not a follower. Stand up for what you believe in, even if it means standing alone. God will be with you every step of the way.
