Killing Me Softly with Anger……

Is it me or does it seem like the atmosphere is filling up with anger lately? According to the Dictionary, Anger is defined as “a strong feeling of annoyance, displeasure, or hostility.” Where are these feelings coming from and why is it so contagious and how does it effect the body? Let’s get a little scientific here because it is important to understand how anger affects us. Here is a great illustration from the National Institute for the Clinical Application of Behavioral Medicine:

I bet after reading this makes you want to prevent yourself from getting angry right? It did for me! This illustrated study shows us how dangerous stress is to our bodies. Do you know or have you ever met anyone who was always negative, angry and mean because of it? If so, did you notice if they had any health problems? Unfortunately, most do, it can be from skin to a metabolic problem. This is also how some get depressed too, it’s very sad. And just like a happy attitude is contagious so is a negative attitude. I remember listening to Zig Ziglar explain a story about how one person can affect so many lives just by that person having a bad day. I think it started when a guy had a bad morning from someone cutting him off in traffic resulting in his coffee spilling on him. When he got to the office he was angry and started to yell at one of his sales guys about some deal he didn’t get (even though the boss told him not to worry about it) then the sales guy called the receptionist yelling he needed something by insulting her work ethic which led her to yell at her kid when she got home that led to the kid kicking his cat for no reason. So, all of these lives were affected by just one guy who couldn’t control his anger. I am sure this happens all the time with people all over, and I think this is why we should also show love and kindness towards people no matter what in hopes to make them feel better. Every day we should try our best to make someone smile, whether it’s a stranger, a friend, a spouse, a child or even a mean boss. We all have issues that we need to work on so by us being the bigger and nicer person in the room may cause the evil negativity to cease. We have to remember God doesn’t want us to be angry, sad or miserable, He wants us happy. The only one I can say who loves the anger is the devil, he wants the negativity to stay, he wants us to fight, he wants us to cry, he wants us to be so down that we just off ourselves, this would please him, and if we succumb to his taunting negativity he will win. This is why we should keep God in our lives, pray every day for protection, ask God for help with whatever the issue is. If we keep the good in our lives it will outweigh the bad. God has more power the man and the devil, He can do anything! I’ve seen many miracles in my life as well as my family and friends, stuff that you wouldn’t believe if I told you, no really, you wouldn’t believe. This is how I know He’s real and His power is real. But don’t forget the devil is real too and so is his power, but he will never have as much power as our God, remember that.

My advice to everyone who is dealing with an issue is to pray, get on a healthy diet and exercise program. Even if its walking, running, or biking, it’s a start. As soon as the bad food, toxins and chemicals get out of our bodies we change, especially our brains. Remember, sugar is just as addictive as heroin, sugar is in everything! Read your labels and you will see! If it says no sugar look under the food label marked “other ingredient” and there you will see all sorts of hidden sugars, here is a link to learn about that. So, pray, read your bibles and get closer to God! We need this! His Word is our bread, we can’t live without it.
